^{Dear Members.}

It is a great honour to be Captain of The Williamwood Golf Club for 2010 and I am very aware of my responsibilities to you as I begin my year in office. I really appreciated the large number of members and friends who turned out last Saturday to see me drive off and who went out of their way to wish me well for the coming year. The occasion also gave me the opportunity to introduce Ian Johnston as my Vice Captain and I was delighted that Ian should also be so well received by everyone. Ian is a long time member and brings to the Committee a wealth of experience, both in the commercial and golfing world, which will be invaluable to us. Past Captain Ken Gray’s year was a time when significant changes were made to the layout of the course from the 9^th hole through to the 14^th and Ken can take great pride in these changes. He has worked tirelessly as an ambassador for the Club and no one could have done more to promote the good name of The Williamwood Golf Club. This will be a year of consolidation both to allow the course changes to settle in and financially as we wait to see how the general economic situation affects us. It is also our intention to make the Club diary available for collection at the clubhouse at the end of February. Please uplift your diary as the postage on such items is now quite considerable. We now have a full social calendar with many events taking place in the clubhouse during the early months of 2010. Please consult the notice boards for further details or contact the Secretary’s office.
